Silky Oaks Lodge

Silky Oaks is a very special luxury lodge nestled right in the heart of the Daintree rainforest about 1½ hours from Cairns. Here you will feel the serenity that only comes from being this close to nature. This retreat with an air of casual sophistication in the rich ambience of the Mossman Gorge offers fine dining and excellent Australian wines. There are two lounges and a bar, a pool, a tennis court, a tour desk and flora and fauna reference library for the guests to use.

Complimentary activities include naturalist guided rainforest walk through the adjoining Daintree Rainforest National Park, evening slide presentations, Mossman River snorkeling and canoeing, mountain biking, nocturnal forest walks and wallaby feeding at the nursery. The resort can also arrange scuba diving trips to Great Barrier Reef, scenic flights, wilderness safaris, cruises, golf, horseback riding, fishing, sailing and sea kayaking expeditions. The Silky Oaks Lodge is a unique experience, and a great base for exploring the reef and the rainforest.

Silky Oaks has sixty private and secluded tree house chalets, each one with its own vantage point of the rainforest. In order to immerse you into the rainforest experience, the chalets are not equipped with televisions and telephones. The air-conditioned chalets all have one queen-size bed, and one single bed, a private bathroom and a balcony. Amenities include ceiling fans, mini bars, tea and coffee making facilities, clock radios, ironing facilities, bath robes, hair dryers and laundry services. Some chalets have their own spa baths.
