NATURE
Costa Rica is recognized worldwide for its national parks system, conservation efforts and stable government without an army. They have pioneered the concept of ecotourism. Visit the impressive active volcanoes, rainforests and cloud forests, bird and turtle nesting sites, butterfly reserves and more.

Costa Rica has over 800 species of birds—more than all of North America. It also has 1,200 species of orchids, 8,000 species of other plants, 150 species of edible fruits, more quetzal birds than any other country in the world and over 10% of the world`s butterflies, more than the entire continent of Africa. Whether you join a scheduled group departure or allow us to piece together an individual tour, you will be in the very capable and knowledgeable hands of your Costa Rican naturalist guides.
SCUBA DIVING
Scuba diving in Costa Rica`s waters is adventure diving. While the visibility is generally 40-80 feet there is an incredible abundance of marine life due to the nutrient rich waters flowing up the west coast. Costa Rica is not known for its tropical coral reefs. Instead, you will encounter schools of thousands of fish at every site and the bottom dwellers that are far more abundant and exotic. Moray eels are prolific with different species such as jewel, snowflake, zebra, panamic green and whitemouth.

Costa Rica offers small clusters of corals growing on the rocky seafloor with both soft and hard corals attached. Dive off rocky pinnacles and submerged reefs that slope to 150 feet. You may encounter a variety of large marine animals, including whale sharks, schools of cow rays, giant mantas, killer whales, sailfish, eagle rays and numerous other pelagics. During the summer months the water temperature can range from 74-80°F and is slightly cooler in the winter, but there can always be thermoclines at deeper depths.
