Tompotika Dive Lodge

Description:

The one and only resort on the East side of Central Sulawesi, the Tompotika Dive Lodge, offers magnificent dive sites. With only five bungalows, the lodge is located on the coastline of a small Indonesian village.  Since 2014, they have been actively protecting the region’s ecosystem with the help of villagers.

Nestled within an eye-catching, breathtaking, and heart-warming view of greenery-filled mountains and untouched nature, this resort is a place where the sky meets the sea.

The restaurant offers excellent Asian-European fusion cuisine and can accommodate any diet (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.).

Accommodation:

Only 5 bungalows nestled on the beach of a small Indonesian village.  The standard and deluxe bungalows are equipped with air conditioning, fans, and private bathrooms with hot water.  The rooms have numerous 220-volt sockets with a large charging area for your electronics.

 

Diving:

The dive center is integrated into the resort.  Tompotika offers more than 30 dive sites of remarkable quality, ranging from exceptional muck dives to splendid reef dives with a fascinating quantity of fish life.  In collaboration with he villagers, we developed protection for the marine and terrestrial fauna. The coast and reefs of the area are now actively protected. By visiting them, you are helping the community protect this wonderful area.

 

 

Activities:

Kayaks and bicycles are available free of charge to explore the surrounding beaches, villages, and coconut plantations.

A Maleo Bird sanctuary is located on a beautiful beach about 20 km North of the resort. (The Maleo is an endemic bird of Sulawesi.) It can be accessed by road or by boat. The visit should take place in the morning to observe the birds digging their nesting holes in the sand in which they lay their eggs.

Explore local farming by visiting a clove plantation. Coconuts, cloves, chocolate, and honey are among the area's most important resources. Discover the importance of these plantations in local life and enjoy the green surroundings.

Bats colonies live on the islands of Pulau Ampat, 25 km north of the resort. They rent a canoe from the locals to observe their take-off at sunset.
